VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 18-06
POLITICAL POOR CONDUCT Week of 2018/02/05
As this is written, the first 'State of the Union' speech by PRESDT is about 36
hours from taking place and already petulant members of Congress most, if not all,
with a 'D' behind their name, have publicly stated that they will "boycott" the joint
meeting on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. What a bunch of sore losers!! It appears to
me that they are so used to being in sole charge that it is just not possible for them to
not be able to push others around and act as they please. I don't know about their
colleagues but my friends and I will hold them in contempt for such conduct.
It is my hope that PRESDT will 'make it short and blunt' and proclaim that the
'Union is in great shape and getting better'. That would, of course, offend the major
media as it would give them much less to complain about. My memory of these in
previous years is that the sitting President would drone on and on about his
accomplishments, for the most part. However, it was a refreshing change to have
PRESBO be called a "Liar" at least once for a flagrant falsehood. Unfortunately the
proclaimant was soundly ridiculed for some time after by an "in the tank" major media.
Certainly PRESDT has no shortage of accomplishments to mention in a
favorable way. In my memory of these occasions there have been none that can
honestly make claim to so many improvements in the situation, at least as far as the
citizens and Nation are concerned. In fact, from the reception he seems to have
received in Switzerland recently it would appear that officials from around the World
feel better about the future. Along that line it has been proven, unfortunately all too
seldom, that the take charge and do things attitude he expounds will garner respect
from most, if not all, the other World leaders.
In my memory it remains clear about the discovery after V-E Day that the Nazi
military had orders to the effect that if they experienced ANY resistance on entering
Poland they were to turn around and return into Germany. Perhaps Hitler was
astounded when the British and French promptly declared war in September of
1939 to start World War II. His attack to invade was initiated just two days after
British PM Chamberlain declared on return from Berlin "We have achieved peace in
our time". So much for being able to trust ANY person in total dictatorship position.
Back to the "Swamp". It seems to me that PRESDT, Pro-tem McConnell, and
Speaker Ryan are faced with the same adversaries in minority leaders Schumer, D-
NY, and Pelosi, D-CA. Their promises seem to be totally unbelievable and should
not be accepted. Fortunately for we poor, overtaxed, and under served citizens it
seems to me that Trump is equal to the task, with plenty of business experience
dealing with such individuals in foreign nations.
So far, I am encouraged and pleased with how much Trump has managed to
accomplish in just one year in spite of opposition from individuals in both parties!! It
would please me to see the RNC meet and at least vote on declaring to be RINOs
those who are in open opposition to the President and his goals. Hopefully those
who are up for re-election this year will be subject to retirement in November, or
even earlier if there happens to be a primary for any of them.
Along that line, some are already talking like the nomination of Cong. Jim
Bridenstine, R-OK1, to head NASA may not garner enough Senate votes because
of two empty seats held by Republicans, due to illness, and Sen. Marco Rubio
steadfastly refusing to even consider a vote for him. It appears that his objection is
because Jim supported Sen.Ted Cruse in the primary. Well, duh, Cruse is from
Texas, much more like and physically closer to Oklahoma than is Florida. In
addition, Cruse has an attitude much closer to ours than does Rubio. In fact he was
my original choice, but am pleased with probably the only one of the 17 that could
have won over HRC and her blindly supporting major media.
In any event we shall soon see just how far the 'sore losers' are willing to go to
express their outrage at having lost the election. To them I/we say: "Get over it, you
lost". If they are so willing to bash the Nation and disrespect the flag, then it seems to
me that they should just go to one of those C/S nations and see how they like living
there. I've seen none of those claiming they would do that if Trump won carry out
on their promise to us. On the other hand, none was expected, they were just
blowing off steam.

Things to ponder during the coming year

(1) Isn't it weird that in America, our flag and our culture offend so many people,
but our benefits don't?

(2) How can the federal government ask U.S. citizens to pay back student loans
when illegal aliens are receiving a free education?

(3) Only in America are legal citizens labeled "racists" and "Nazis," but illegal
aliens are called "Dreamers."

(4) Liberals say, "If confiscating all guns saves just one life, it's worth it." Well,
then, if deporting all illegals saves just one life, wouldn't that be worth it?

(5) I can't quite figure out how you can proudly wave the flag of another country,
but consider it punishment to be sent back there.

(6) The Constitution: It doesn't need to be rewritten, it needs to be reread.

(7) William F. Buckley said: "Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other
points of view, and are then shocked and offended when they discover there are
other points of view."

(8) Joseph Sobran said: "'Need' now means wanting someone else's money.
'Greed' means wanting to keep your own. 'Compassion' is when a politician arranges
the transfer."

(9) Florida has had 119 hurricanes since 1850, but some people still insist the
last one was due to climate change.

"If it's not broken, we'll fix it until it is." U.S. Government motto

VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 18-05
THE PEOPLE WIN!! Week of 2018/01/29
While preparing to begin writing this communication, Rush announced that the
Democrat Senate minority had ended their obstructionist partial shut down of the
Government and voted to go back to work to, initially, debate and vote on the
necessary budget matters. While the untruthful and demagogic leaders of the
minority (Democrat) party did everything they could think of to make us believe that
the majority leaders and PRESDT were responsible, it did not work this time. Note:
the Democrat Party is not being blamed for this. It is those in the leadership that
have been trying to mislead and misinform we the citizens about the fault. So, it
would appear that those in that part of the US Government who would be
considered "non-essential" will not have a PAID (later) vacation, but continue to,
hopefully, EARN their inflated salaries.
Frankly it should not be too surprising that the outcome is different than in the
thirty or so previous instances of 'government shut-down' in past decades. Hopefully,
we the people will remember just who did what next Fall when we go to vote on the
entire 435 members of the House and one-third of the 100 Senators. I, for one, am
sick and tired of the continuing lies and other falsifications that have emanated from
the Democrat Party leaders and their 'Propaganda Ministry' called the 'major media'.
Perhaps a few set-backs will convince them that the war for sanity is coming to a close
and its time to come clean.
My understanding is that Senator Schumer, D-NY, refused to agree to a vote
on the budget matter UNLESS it included amnesty for the DACA illegal aliens
already here. Estimates of those range from 800,000 to several million, mostly
brought in as, supposedly, juveniles from deadly or famine nations, mostly south of
our border. Reports from more than one sources have pretty well shown that many
of those were of adult age, some as old as 35. The problem is that some legislative
rules are that a bill must only involve one matter. Budget and immigration (invasion)
are definitely not the same matters.
For those not aware of just why they would want to bring in and keep here
so many aliens, illegally, there is no question that it is to obtain additional Socialist
minded added voters. Even now it has been reported that there is a movement in
California to register all those illegally there to vote. Just remember that each non-
citizen, grave marker name, felon under sentence, or under judicial declaration of
mental incompetence allowed to vote just lowers the importance of our truly legal
ballots!! Lest one question that to be happening already, be assured that it has and
does, from my own personal knowledge. Our supposition is that the leaders of the
Democrat Party and those of the C/S persuasion are hoping to build a permanent
'poor people' and ignorant population that they can manipulate to guarantee them
being in power for good.
And now, it has just been reported that the "dreamers" spokespersons have
rejected the agreement that allowed the end of the 'partial' government shut down.
Dreamers are those brought here, unconstitutionally, and therefor illegally,
supposedly as juveniles, but some are much older. Most were illiterate and are
being educated at tax payer expense, not to mention clothed, fed, and housed by
the same source. Some have even been found to be executing crimes, including
violence, but in the "sanctuary cities and counties", and now State of California
they are, or seem to be, given a free pass.
The question now becomes what individuals can do to reverse this
destruction of that REPUBLIC known as the USA. There is no mistake that said
destruction is just what the agenda has been and still is of those of the C/S
movement. Those leading the movement intend to be the rulers in the changed
nation and society, thus relegating the masses to the serfdom conditions suffered
by the vast majority of the World population through all history. The first thing
we must do is remember the adage of "I may not be able to do everything to
improve things, but I may be able to do something". Then we must be determined
and willing to do whatever is within our financial, mental, and physical abilities to
reverse the present trend and return our REPUBLIC to its former glory, or even
better.
All that includes becoming informed of issues and personalities being decided
in elections, and not afraid to pass that information on to those less knowledgeable.
Also to 'hold feet to the fire' those in office or employment. No one will claim it to
be easy, as they are well entrenched, but it can be done, and must be for the well
being of the whole World.

BAD HABITS

It never ceases to amaze me the way the mainstream media can become absolutely obsessed with a word allegedly spoken by our president and be completely oblivious to the other issues of the day that do have a huge effect on our lives. It is a fact that we humans do have some annoying habits. Occasionally we will belch after we eat a big meal, or heaven forbid pass some gas. It is nothing short of normal for any of us to say a dirty word if we happen to hit our finger while trying to drive a nail in a board. The liberal elites have completely worked themselves into a frenzy over the description that our president may, or may not have, used to describe some of the most corrupt and violent nations on our planet.

President Trump and others have denied saying anything inappropriate in the meeting last week over the immigration issue. Whether or not you agree with our president's approach, he is making a valid point about putting America first. The liberals seem to want to stroke their egos by allowing everyone into our country regardless of whether or not the immigrants have the skills to support themselves and their families. This attitude would be fine if we lived in a perfect world, but we are far away from living in a perfect world. My parents often told me that the roots of your raising run deep and it is hard to get away from it. Many societies have a deep hatred of America and our way of life; it is very foolish to have an open border policy, we need to remember who and where the Boston Marathon bombers came from. Whenever we no longer have homeless people who were born here in America living in cardboard boxes, or when military veterans are receiving the care they need and deserve, we might be more open. Our nation simply doesn't have the money to provide welfare to the entire world.

There is nothing keeping the liberals from giving all of their income to people in other countries. If they want to bankrupt themselves and spend all of their children's inheritance that is their prerogative, but don't try to force me to do the same. The immigration issue has been a thorn in this nation's side for far too long and I can understand the frustration that president Trump is experiencing because of lack of action on illegal immigration.

The liberals and the media like to come across as being so morally superior and so offended by Trump speaking his mind about the cesspool nations that share this planet with us. Would we classify North Korea as a paradise or call it what it is?  If they are so offended by dirty words why aren't they offend by the lyrics of the so-called entertainment that our children watch every day? Those lyrics glamorize violence, rape and profane language that would make a sailor blush. Folks, I can guarantee you that even the Pope belches and passes gas. Even if our president does occasionally use a little salty language, as long as he puts America first he is doing his job.

So England doesn't like the US recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel!!!!!
Imagine that!

I thought this might give you a better understanding of the insidiousness of Hijrah;
that's the takeover of a nation without going to war. Don't think for a moment that
America is not a target or that there are no American cities where Islamic and Sharia
victories and takeovers have already occurred. It's time for border control, or start
planning for a very big goodbye to the American way of life!
Here's what has already happened to England within a few years of opening their
borders without any entry control:

How the British have passively succumbed to the Musloid invasion:
Mayor of London ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Birmingham ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Leeds ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Blackburn ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Sheffield ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Oxford .. MUSLIM
Mayor of Luton .... MUSLIM
Mayor of Oldham ... MUSLIM
Mayor of Rochdale .... MUSLIM

All the following achieved by just 4 million Muslims out of the 66 million
population:

Over 3,000 Muslim Mosques
Over 130 Muslim Sharia Courts
Over 50 Muslim Sharia Councils
Muslims Only No-Go Areas Across The UK
Muslim Women...78% don't work and are on FREE benefits/housing
Muslim Men...63% don't work and are on FREE benefits/housing
Muslim Families...6-8 children planning to go on FREE benefits/housing
and now all UK schools are ONLY serving HALAL MEAT!
…and we (the USA) and (CANADA) can't decide on an immigration policy???

One of the ways to combat this is to keep circulating information such as this
e-mail around our United States and Canada to inform the uninformed who mainly
only listen and read the left leaning US and Canadian radio/TV and newspapers.
I have not seen this in the US or Canadian media…have you?

Please Pass This On!

I could not read this as it came in. Turned out it was formatted in HTML, or
'RichText', and appeared as ONE LETTER PER LINE after Jim's message so I
reformatted to "Plain Text" and it came out readable. I am somewhat familiar with
the PRESBO program, as he has proudly announced that he was going to do it.
He is the reported FIRST former president to remain in DC, ostensibly to oversee
and promote this disruption.
Note: The USA was NOT established to be a "Democracy" but was meant
to be a "Representative REPUBLIC". In my opinion, the use of 'Democracy' as our
form of government is deliberately meant to mislead and confuse. Bob

This is pretty scary if this is entirely true...... however, we have seen evidence
that this is happening but it is difficult to believe that someone would do this. Think
about all that has happened in the media, the protest, rioting, and you scratch your
head thinking where did this come from..... this may answer some questions......

By Charles Krauthammer
I do not understand how living in a country with its democracy established over
200 years ago, and now, for the first time in history, suddenly we have one of our
former presidents set up a group called "Organizing for Action" (OFA).
OFA is 30,000+ strong and working to disrupt everything that our current
president's administration is trying to do. This organization goes against our
Democracy, and it is an operation that will destroy our way of governing. It goes
against our Constitution, our laws, and the processes established over 200 years ago.
If it is allowed to proceed then we will be living in chaos very much like third world
countries are run. What good is it to have an established government if it is not going
to be respected and allowed to follow our laws? If you had an army some 30,000
strong and a court system stacked over the decades with judges who would allow
you to break the laws, how much damage could you do to a country? We are about
to find out in America!
Our ex-president said he was going to stay involved through community organizing
and speak out on the issues and that appears to be one post-administration promise he
intends to keep. He has moved many of his administration's top dogs over to Organizing
for Action.
OFA is behind the strategic and tactical implementation of the resistance to the Trump
Administration that we are seeing across America, and politically active courts are providing
the leverage for this revolution. OFA is dedicated to organizing communities for
"progressive" change. Its issues are gun control, socialist healthcare, abortion, sexual
equality, climate change, and of course, immigration reform.
OFA members were propped up by the ex-president's message from
the shadows: "Organizing is the building block of everything great we have
accomplished Organizers around the country are fighting for change in their communities
and OFA is one of the groups on the front lines. Commit to this work in 2017 and
beyond." OFA's website says it obtained its "digital" assets from the ex-president's re-
election effort and that he inspired the movement. In short, it is the shadow government
organization aimed at resisting and tearing down the Constitutional Republic we know
as AMERICA.
Paul Sperry, writing for the New York Post, says, "The OFA will fight President
Donald Trump at every turn of his presidency and the ex-president will command them
from a bunker less than two miles from the White House."
Sperry writes that, "The ex-president is setting up a shadow government to
sabotage the Trump administration through a network of non-profits led by OFA, which
is growing its war chest (more than $40 million) and has some 250 offices nationwide.
The OFA IRS filings, according to Sperry, indicate that the OFA has 32,525 (and
growing) volunteers nationwide. The ex-president and his wife will oversee the operation
from their home/ office in Washington DC.
Think about how this works.. For example: Trump issues an immigration executive
order; the OFA signals for protests and statements from pro-immigrant groups; the
ACLU lawyers file lawsuits in jurisdictions where activist judges obstruct the laws;
volunteers are called to protest at airports and Congressional town hall meetings; the
leftist media springs to action in support of these activities; the twitter sphere lights up
with social media; and violence follows. All of this happens from the ex-president's signal
that he is heartened by the protests.
If Barack Obama did not do enough to destroy this country in the 8 years he was in
office, it appears his future plans are to destroy the foundation on which this country has
operated on for the last 241 years.
If this does not scare you, then we are in worse trouble than you know.
So, do your part. You have read it, so at least pass this on so others will know
what we are up against. We are losing our country and we are so compliant. We are
becoming a "PERFECT TARGET" for our enemy!

Subject: Fwd: something to think about!!!

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to
get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a
gentle hand touched my shoulder.
I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a
smile that lit up her entire being..
She said, 'Hi handsome. My name is Rose.. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can
I give you a hug?'
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, 'Of course you may!' and she gave
me a giant squeeze..
'Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?' I asked.
She jokingly replied, 'I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a
couple of kids...'
'No seriously,' I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be
taking on this challenge at her age
'I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!'
she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate
milkshake.
We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would
leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this 'time
machine' as she shared her wisdom and experience with me..
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made
friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention
bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet.
I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the
podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by
five cards on the floor.
Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply
said, 'I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me!
I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.'
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, ' We do not stop playing
because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.
There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving
success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose
your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!
There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.
If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one
productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and
stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
Anybody! Can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is
to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things
we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets..'
She concluded her speech by courageously singing 'The Rose.'
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those months ago
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.

Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the
wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can
possibly be.

When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your
friends and family, they'll really enjoy it!

These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP
IS OPTIONAL.. We make a Living by what we get. We make a Life by what we
give.
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He
will bring you through it.

THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

BY RUSSELL TURNER

A BURNING BUSH

We humans have a bad habit of thinking something is true if it is written down on paper. Maybe that belief stems from the story about Moses bringing down the law on stone tablets from Mount Sinai. I do have the belief that the writing Moses brought down from the mountain was indeed the truth; I only wish that the publications of today were as reliable as those of the past.

I have often heard the uninformed citizen make the claim that whatever is printed in a newspaper is the truth; their reasoning is, they won't let them print it if it were not the truth. It would be nice if that was the case, but I feel truth is becoming a rare commodity today. Ever since the election of Donald Trump as president there has been a constant barrage of attacks against him and his family. The latest attack has come in the form of a book authored by Michael Wolff; in the book he alleges that president Trump is mentally unfit for the office. We need to remember that just because some author makes some off the wall claim against someone doesn't make it true. In fact, since the book was released several people have publicly refuted quotes attributed to them.

Before any of us start accepting the book Fire and Fury as fact we need to realize that the author has benefited greatly by book sales. Unlike Moses who got his information from the supreme commander of the universe, Michael Wolff has used his liberal bias to write his book. For the people out there who believe that they won't let them print it if it were not true, I would like for them to show me who "THEY" are. The answer is very evident, there is no THEY.

The main stream media in this country has become so liberal it is impossible for them to give an honest representation of the facts on both sides of an issue. For over a year none of the attacks against our president has born any fruit. I have grown sick of the constant talk about Russian collusion, the Russian witch hunt is about to end and now the swamp masters are trying to impugn his mental fitness. There are those who have the belief that if you throw enough mud at someone sooner or later some of it will stick; as time has ticked on the accusations seem to get more and more bizarre. Our president has had many accomplishments and has honored many of his campaign promises, but the media cannot report any of that. The hatchet job reporting is having an effect the liberals couldn't predict, the people who voted for Trump have solidified their support. Until the liberal media can quote their sources from the burning bush instead of their liberal mentality, their words mean nothing.

Fw: something to think about at your next fill up

Another from Kirk head usher. Something familiar to me as my
Dad was in Gasoline and oil marketing with the old D-X products. I
remember when Gas was $0.12 pr gal. and the State began to tax
it. Pumps had signs saying: Gas is cheap, only the tax is high. Then
the Federal tax was instituted, perhaps as a WW II funding as well as
to reduce ussage if rationing did not do the job. There was plenty
here in OK, but short in the NE due to U-Boats sinking tankers.
And OK Governor Fallin wants to raise the tax now!!!

AFTER READING THIS GET OUT AND DRIVE YOUR OLD CAR
AND HAVE FUN

YOU THINK GASOLINE IS EXPENSIVE

This is priceless!
All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates
how outrageous some prices are. You will be really shocked by the last one (at
least, I was)!!!
Think a gallon of gas is expensive?
This makes one think, and also puts things into perspective.

Diet Snapple, 16 oz , $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon!
Starbuck's Reg. Coffee 16 oz, $2.10... $16.80 per gallon!
Lipton Ice Tea, 16 oz , $1.19 ... $9.52 per gallon!
Gatorade, 20 oz , $1.59 ..... $10.17 per gallon!
Ocean Spray, 16 oz , $1.25 .. $10.00 per gallon!
Brake Fluid, 12 oz , $3.15 .... $33.60 per gallon!
Vick's NyQuil, 6 oz , $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon!
Pepto Bismol, 4 oz, $3.85 . $123.20 per gallon!
Whiteout, 7 oz , $1.39 ......... $25.42 per gallon!
Scope, 1.5 oz , $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon!

And this is the REAL KICKER.
Evian water, 9 oz , $1.49 ...$21.19 per gallon! $21.19 for a gallon
of WATER!! and the buyers don't even know the source!! (Evian spelled
backwards is Naive.)
Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap? So they can hook
you for the ink. Someone calculated the cost of the ink; you won't believe it
but it's true: $5,200 a gal. $5,200 A GALLON!!!

VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 18-04
MORE WASTED MONEY Week of 2018/01/22
Two or three times in recent months reports have surfaced from State Treasurer
Ken Miller, and carried here, that revenue collections had shown substantial increases
over 2016. These led me to question if there was a real need to have the 'special
sessions' of the Legislature called by Governor Fallin during the Summer. Special
sessions are rather expensive, especially when there is a projected revenue shortfall
from the budget approved last year. We have been told that special sessions run a
normal cost of about $30,000 per day, but not whether there are added costs to that
number, such as travel and per-diem expenses.
Now there has appeared a story in the daily paper of January 6th of another
month, December, where there again was an increase. With increases in all but one
month of 2017. receipts have exceeded those of 2016 by "$667.6 million". The one
month without an increase was not listed, but logic would give the presumption that it
would have been January, before the boom engendered by the inauguration of
PRESDT became a reality. With a previously projected shortfall of $316 million, it
would seem that the problem would have solved itself, and so it would not have been
necessary to even have had any special session let alone two.
It still confuses me how this state government, which has a constitutional
requirement to not operate on a deficit, can continue to spend money, like there was
no limit, and not seriously seek to cut waste wherever it is found to occur. State
Auditor Gary Jones has documented a number of very wasteful situations in the
Oklahoma governmental operations, as he has stated in some of his speeches
attended by me. But neither House, as a group, seems to be interested in taking
action to reduce or eliminate the wasteful, and/or illegal operations and practices,
nor does the Governor.
On top of that there are those who want to, and do, throw large amounts of
money into questionable activities (give away's or 'bribes') in hopes of "bringing
new business here". It would seem obvious to me that rather than such wasteful
practices the brakes should be put on all such wasteful practices and be able to
substantially cut taxes. Another detriment to securing new business activities would
be the multitude of onerous and anti-business regulations that exist, many instituted
by unelected agency managers.
It would be interesting to see just how many individuals and corporations
have moved headquarters out of the State and, if their management would divulge,
what actual reasons they used to justify the expense of the move. My memory is
still clear that when the decision was made by the parent company to move the
headquarters of Amoco Production Company to Chicago Amoco President Randy
Yost publicly stated that he did not want to move there, but simply 'Oklahoma is
not friendly to business' (as best in my memory).
And now it has been released that House Speaker Wright, R(INO?)-
Weatherford, has submitted a House Resolution that would amend the State
Constitution to lower the vote requirement to raise taxes from the present 75% to,
if my hearing is correct, 60%. This was heard on the radio Wednesday Morning
January 10 and the percent could have even been 50%. It would, of course,
require a vote of the people in November to take effect, but that would just open
the door to more taxation and probably more businesses and people deciding to
move out and thus lower the tax receipts. Are they mindless down there?
For those currently uninformed the acronym 'RINO' stands for 'Republican
In Name Only' and should be applied to anyone who campaigns on low taxes,
with no increases, and economies of operation, in accordance with the Republican
Party Platform, and then violates the campaign promises when in office. It is sad,
but there are far too many RINOs holding elective office all over the Nation. That
was what I presumed PRESBO meant when he promised to "drain the swamp" in
the District of Columbia.
Along that line, it should be recalled that it was during the Administration of FDR,
beginning in March of 1933, that residents of DC were first allowed to vote, and
thus have a say in who the elective bosses were to be. Also, the time when the
'Civil Service Laws' were instituted which allowed them to have total job security.
That was the beginning of the 'swamp' because they were able to thwart the efforts
of an incoming President. Before that a new Administration would normally replace
all the 'bureaucrats' with their own loyal people that they could rely on for support.
It was much better then!!

Fw: the conservative view

Well said, and I'm in total agreement.  Hopefully PRESDT will, when
he gets to it, take steps to pull the plug.  In the meantime, the Congress
should carry out their Constitutional duty and bring impeachment
charges against Federal judges who go along with the mess.   Bob

THE CONSERVATIVE VIEW

BY RUSSELL TURNER

A PULLED PORK SANDWICH

For a long time I have noticed that many Americans have forgotten the meaning of being free. Our country was founded upon the principle of being left alone as long as you are not harming someone else. We are free to travel wherever we want without the government's permission. The government doesn't have the right to tell any of us who we can associate with. We are free to choose the political party that most agrees with our philosophy and most of all we are free to worship in any religion. We, the American consumer, have the right to shop wherever we want and to patronize the businesses that best fit our needs. While we consumers cherish that freedom, the judicial branch of our government is ready to deny that freedom to the small businesses and entrepreneurs of our country.

In the state of Oregon there has been a case making the national news about a small bakery being sued for not decorating a cake for a lesbian couple. The owners of the bakery were ordered to pay a $135,000.00 judgment for refusing to decorate a gay wedding cake. Recently the Oregon Supreme Court upheld that decision and ordered the couple to pay up. The bakery owners professed to have a strong Christian belief and, based upon their faith, refused to decorate the cake. In my opinion the courts in Oregon have overstepped their authority. We need to remember that the bakery is a privately owned business. All business strive to get as much market share as possible, but when they are asked to do something that goes against their core religious beliefs, the government should not be forcing them to do it in defiance of their beliefs.

Would the government force a Jewish publishing company to print propaganda from a neo Nazi group? Would the government force a Muslim owned restaurant to serve a pulled pork sandwich to an irate customer? I have noticed that society has gotten into a bad habit of attacking anyone who has deep roots in a religious philosophy, even more so if they happen to be Christians. Our country was once a strong Christian nation, but sadly we are becoming an antichristian nation. We Americans like to complain about the decay of our society, but when it comes down to the time to get serious too many of our fellow citizens just duck their heads and walk away. Throughout life I have found out if you take a stand usually you have to stand alone. I am sure that if someone wants to purchase any particular item there will always be someone to sell it to them. I have always had the belief if someone doesn't want to do business with me I do not want to do business with them. We as a people need to live and let live. The next time I get a craving for a pulled pork sandwich I won't go to a Muslim owned establishment. I respect their right to their beliefs and will not ask them to do something they find offensive. Until we extend freedom to all parts of our society we are not truly free.

In 2012 the NFL had an issue with Tim Tebow kneeling for each game to pray,
they also had an issue with Tebow wearing John 3:16 as part of his eye-black to avoid
glare, and made him take it off.
In 2013 theNFL fined Brandon Marshall for wearing green cleats to raise
awareness for people with mental health disorders.
In 2014 Robert Griffin III (RG3) entered a post-game press conference
wearing a shirt that read "Know Jesus Know Peace" but was forced to turn it inside
out by an NFL uniform inspector before speaking at the podium.
In 2015 DeAngelo Williams was fined for wearing "Find the Cure" eye black
for breast cancer awareness.
In 2015 William Gay was fined for wearing purple cleats to raise awareness
for domestic violence. (Not that the NFL has a domestic violence problem...)
In 2016 the NFL prevented the Dallas Cowboys from wearing a decal on
their helmet in honor of 5 Dallas Police officers killed in the line of duty.
In 2016 the NFL threatened to fine players who wanted to wear cleats to
commemorate the 15th anniversary of 9/11.

So, tell me again how the NFL supports free speech and expression, and, all
of a sudden........It seems quite clear based on these facts that the NFL has taken a
position against any action by NFL players demonstrating RESPECT for any issue:
For God, social causes such as mental health, cancer, domestic violence, for cops
killed arbitrarily for being cops, for the Memory of 9/11...
But, they will allow demonstrations of DISRESPECT for our National Flag,
our National Anthem, for America, and for the American People, if it will help
mollify a particular group and its supporters (such as BLM, and other leftists)
That is who and what the NFL has shown itself to be.

Pass this post along to all your friends and family.

Honor our military, too many of whom have come home with the American Flag draped over their
coffin.

MASSIVE DEBT EXAMPLES Week of 2018/01/15
It tends to boggle the mind of those of us out in the 'real world' when we are
confronted with occasional reports of the amount of 'National Debt' the USA has
accumulated, last reported it was over $24 Trillion, yes with a T. My feeble mind is
unable to comprehend a number that large, but divide it by the estimated population
of over 320 Million, it still becomes a staggering amount that is really owed by each
and every citizen. Perhaps it would be well to attempt to locate areas where there
has been substantial waste that gathered together would ultimately add up to the final
figure. And the beat goes on, with overspending and out and out waste continuing
daily, or even by the minute.
One glaring example recently surfaced in a morning radio show on KFAQ
(formerly KVOO). The regular host was on vacation the week between Christmas
and New Year and his sub had a guest, by phone, who recounted that FEMA
(Federal Emergency Management Administration) had been purchasing 'trailers'
for dispossessed people to live in for $150,000 each and then only allowing them to
be used for eighteen months before selling them at auction for normally less than
$10,000. The guest stated that some had minor exterior damage, some had
missing furniture, and some had experienced water on the floor. So far as he knew,
the project cost had exceeded $100 million and was continuing, and further that
there were still over 8,000 people displaced from their homes by the recent
hurricane in Houston that would be happy to have these instead of living in
temporary 'shelters' and FEMA funded hotel rooms.
It surfaced during the discussion, and seemed logical to me, that the high
initial cost per unit could be an indication of possible fraud or collusion in the
purchase contract,. Remember the DOD scandal of multi-thousand dollar toilet
seats, and oft reported other excessive equipment cost overruns. In fact, one of
the first things accomplished by PRESDT, possibly even before inauguration, was
to obtain a cost reduction from the manufacturer of the new F-35, to save several
billion dollars over the whole purchase.
This shouldn't come as a surprise, at least to those familiar with the make up
of the members of the bureaucracy. For the most part the Federal, and also most
state, full time employee staff is made up of individuals without free market
employee experience whose supervisors are of the same background who have
come up to supervise by being able to stay there. The idea of profit and economy
does not seem to be of any consideration in their decisions making process. As the
pay scales have risen to exceed those of the private sector, especially when the
fringe benefits and almost absolute job security are included. They seem to simply
ignore orders from the 'replaceable' presidential appointees and do whatever their
political persuasion leads them. That began with the "civil service laws" enacted in
the early days of the FDR Administrations beginning in 1933.
Such wastefulness is not limited to the Federal Government at all, but has
drifted down to most, if not all, of the State Governments. Several years ago a
former Oklahoma State Senator, running for a different office, stated that he had
found, if memory serves correct, that the State was leasing, on a year to year basis
with thus higher rent, seven large storage buildings. He stated that the buildings
were full of furniture and equipment, some new but unused, and that he could find
no office that had an inventory of the contents of even one building. That was back
when the total annual budget was in the multi to hundred millions of dollars, rather
than the several billion now reported.
When a candidate for State Senate in 1996, it came to my attention that the
fund for the Teachers Retirement was only funded to about ten percent, leaving a
shortfall of, if memory serves, about $5 Billion. Being appalled at that information,
correcting it became one of the main themes of my campaign. Unfortunately, it was
unsuccessful as it was against a two term incumbent with fund backing exceeding ten
times that available to me. There was no expectation of victory, but this and other
issues were brought to light and may have assisted in future elections. We the people
are, as usual, still kept in the dark about such goings on!!
