MANUFACTURED CRISIS
Over the course of the government shutdown I grew tired of hearing the phrase about the crisis on our southern border being a manufactured crisis. It is a sad fact that most Americans don't take the time to research these little catch phrases and see what a load of garbage is being put out for public consumption. I recently read some facts on what the cost of illegal immigration is costing Los Angeles County in California. According to the article, the LA times reported on the cost to the taxpayers, and the results should be a wakeup call for all Americans.
In LA county 40% of all workers are working for cash and not paying income taxes; this is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals; they are here illegally. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal. This has happened because the elected officials in California have declared their state to be a sanctuary state. Instead of doing their job and protecting the taxpayers of their state, they are encouraging a lawless society.
The liberals who are promoting an open border have often made the comment that we are a nation of immigrants and, for some perverted reason, they think that we owe it to the world to allow anyone to ignore our laws and simply march into our country. I agree that immigrants have been a huge asset to our nation, but Thomas Sowell made a statement that put that argument into perspective. He said, "THE ENDLESS REPEATED ARGUMENT THAT MOST AMERICANS ARE THE DESCENDANTS OF IMMIGRANTS IGNORES THE FACT THAT MOST AMERICANS ARE NOT DESCENDANTS OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS."
When you look at the facts it is evident that our president is totally correct when he makes the statement that there is a crisis on our southern border. Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are doing nothing but deceiving the American people, and the mainstream media is promoting the deception by not reporting the actual facts on the cost being placed upon the taxpayers of this nation.
There is a crisis on our southern border, but the actions, or I would say the lack of action by Nancy Pelosi, is manufacturing an even bigger one by not giving our border patrol agents the tools they need to control our southern border. Until we have a physical barrier there will be continual caravans of people marching across our border. It is a sad state of affairs in our country when our elected representatives care more for people who violate our laws and come into our country illegally than the taxpaying citizens of this country who are paying their salaries. If President Trump has to declare a nation emergency to build the wall he has my support. It is foolish for our nation to continue spending money for illegal acts that could have been prevented.
