It seems that those involved in 'services' to the population, not only in the City of
Tulsa but throughout government at all levels, forget just who it is that provides the money,
through taxes, to pay their salaries/wages. The original title for such individuals, whether
elected, appointed, or employed was "Civil Servants". Now it seems to be the attitude that WE
are the servants to attend to and pay for their expenditures, be they normal or extravagant.
A case in point in Tulsa is the construction for the "Gathering Place", as near as I
can tell from the various media coverage plats, that will be on both sides of Riverside Drive.
The plans shown are for that arterial street being place through twin tunnels so that the park
users will not have to cross a street to get from one side to the other, a safety plan.
However, Riverside Drive has been closed for more than a year and photos of the work
area indicate that the 'tunnels' structures are, and have been for some time, in place. It
seems to me that for the safety and convenience of the population, the street should have been
re-opened to traffic for some time now. Meanwhile TV news stories have shown childrens
playground equipment being in place and, to my understanding of the 'reports', ready for use,
or are already in use.
What appears to be a total lack of consideration for the driving population is not
good conduct. The construction should have been top priority to reopen Riverside at the
earliest possible time. The necessity of detours, mostly to already overcrowded Peoria,
present a real safety issue there, and costly both in time and expenses, to the public. In my
opinion, this is a gross failure of responsibility on the part of both planners and contractors
and should be remedied as soon as street construction can be completed.
It has occurred to me that part of the thought process problem is the major objections
raised, by wealthy nearby residents, when former Mayor Susan Savage proposed widening the
street by two more lanes and making it a 'Parkway'. That plan was promptly scrubbed.
These 'unnamed bureaucrats' need to keep in mind that the first duties of government
is the 'safety, protection, and convenience' of the population. They should be required to
make those items the first priority of their conduct. This delay is not acceptable!!

DEDICATED TO AGENDA Week of 2017/02/27
Thankfully it seems as though some of the Congressional leadership have found that
they really do have a backbone and can stand up against the minority leadership being
mean-mouthed. They have actually used the rule provisions to secure the seating of some of the
presidential appointments that require Senate confirmation. Particularly satisfying to me was
the confirmation of Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to be head of the nefarious EPA as
he will probably take an active part in undoing many of the stupid and illogical 'rules with
the force of law' that have been issued during the course of perhaps 24 years. Rules that have
the effect of increasing the cost of many things we use daily for all of us, with no really
appreciable benefit.
Unfortunately, there are still a few miscreants left in the caucus, such as Graham,
R-AL? and McCain, R-AZ who cannot resist making irrelevant, and untrue, accusations against
PRESDT. Why their constituents continue returning them in elections is not clear to me. If
our Congressional delegates acted in such a petulant and irresponsible manner, there are plenty
of us in Oklahoma that would leave no stone unturned to give them the retirement they so richly
deserve.
In the case of the EPA there was an AP story in the daily news(?)paper on Feb. 7 that
bore the headline "Scores of EPA workers object to Trump's pick (Pruitt) to lead agency.
Actually the headline was a little misleading since the story mostly was about "about 300
people, including scores of EPA employees who rallied across the street from the agency's
regional headquarters in downtown Chicago". In addition, it stated that "nearly 450 former EPA
officials signed a letter sent to the US Senate" that strongly opposed his nomination. Of
course, the gist of all this is that these people are career bureaucrats who were hired because
of their existing prejudices in favor of the 'environmental extremist' movement. Said movement
was infiltrated and finally taken over by the world Communist movement, which should explain
their militant and violent conduct.
Not to be outdone, it repeated that "Senate Democrats boycotted a committee vote on
Pruitt's nomination" using an excuse his "14 lawsuits" against EPA regulations in the US
Supreme Court". The story failed to mention that he prevailed and they we were, at least to
that extent, protected from even more expensive, unnecessary, and intrusive regulations. The
idea of 'taking a break' (boycott) seems to be a common occurrence in politics in recent
months. They, usually paid representatives of the people, simply walk out instead of showing
their unpopular positions on issues by playing hooky, like the spoiled brats they are acting.
It appears to me that they should be held accountable for not doing the jobs they so
eagerly sought with the rather cushy benefits they receive, along with a substantial retirement
as well as being exempted from most of the nefarious laws they have pushed through in previous
congresses. One way would be to enact a Constitutional Amendment to establish term limits,
such as four terms for House members and two for Senators. That would tend, in a few years to
weed out those who, although ten or more years younger than myself, look, act, and speak like
someone substantially older, and in some cases like they should have care in a mental facility.
The final approval of Scott Pruitt to head the EPA, in my opinion, bodes well for the
poor overloaded payers of the taxes to run the nation. It has been fairly well proven,
although not much reported, that this department is and has been responsible for rules that
substantially have reduced our quality of life, raised the cost of living, and actually were
detrimental to the 'environment' they claimed the rules were meant to benefit. Mr. Pruitt is
expected to bring some sense to this wayward and out of control dictatorial department.

FAIRTAX UPDATE Week of 2017/03/06
Four weeks ago there was a brief discussion was done on the PRESDT promise of revising the income tax laws we have suffered through for these many decades and revisions, each making things worse. The result being the development of one of the largest and most corrupt and dictatorial departments in the US Government, the IRS. It has also been used to attack and intimidate those with opposite views to the sitting administration, even to the point of criminal indictments and jail time, all of which were blatantly illegal.
The imposition of an income tax is permitted under Constitutional Amendment XVI (16) which simply reads, in full: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration". This socialist oriented amendment was ratified by the necessary number of states on February 3, 1913. A tax on the proceeds of one's labor or wisdom is, in my and many others opinions, unethical, immoral, and most regressive.
In 2005 a book titled "The FairTax Book" appeared as authored by then talk show host Neal Boortz and then Congressman John Linder, R-GA. While skeptical, after reading same my attention was captured and now believe it to be the answer to most, if not all, the fiscal problems of the USA. That is except for the tendency of those in government to spend in excess of revenue at all times, apparently expecting there to be an unlimited source of funds.
In essence, the FAIRTAX would replace ALL existing tax revenue to the federal government with a single 'embedded in sales price' of all goods at the point of FINAL retail sale. The tax, 23%, would be collected by the tax authority of each state and forwarded, less a 1/2% fee, to the US Treasury each month. Thus it would be a 'voluntary' tax, based on how much one wished to spend on the purchase of NEW items. The only report necessary for a family to make would be an annual statement of the number of individuals residing in the home. This would then be used to determine the amount of "prebate" to be paid each month, in advance, of the estimated amount of tax to be collected on the necessities of a poverty level family of that number reported.
Thus all corporate taxes would disappear, including withholding, and income. Items exported would not be taxed, as wholesale, and the bookkeeping costs of the employee taxes deducted would disappear, as well as the costs to both individuals and corporations would be totally unnecessary. There would be no: Social Security, Medicare, Death, Self-employment, alternative minimum, gift, capital gains as well as income tax.
This morning the office of OK-1 District Congressman Jim Bridenstine advised me that in the current new Congress House the FAIRTAX is HR 26 and that so far there are 36 House co-sponsors signed on, including three of the five from Oklahoma. In past sessions there have been as many as 62 co-sponsors, to my knowledge. Only Congressmen Cole and Russell are not in and in the 12 years that the proposal has been in the hopper, Cong. Cole has not to my knowledge ever been a co-sponsor.
My fear is that if the PRESDT stated program of a "three level" tax rate should prevail, the costs of filing, and payroll deductions would continue and could be 'tinkered with' by misguided members of future Congresses to the detriment of both individual citizens and the economy.
We all need, if this seems desirable or necessary, to lean on both Senators and our own, and others whose attention we might have, and secure their promise to 'get on board' and if not why not. The result would be a massive economic boom for our nation.

Editor: "Alternate design for South Yale
Widening"
In the middle of the last decade the City of Tulsa finally got around to widening
South Yale Avenue to 6 lanes plus left turn from 71st Street to 81st Street. This was part of
the reported master plan to widen it the same from the SH 51 (BA Expressway) to the Creek
Turnpike. At the time it was promised that the section from 81st Street to 91st Street would
be next, and soon.
The above widening took longer than planned with much inconvenience to those of us
living on either side of Yale, but we tolerated the extended inconvenience with minimal
complaints. That is until the contractor made proposals for "Change orders" to add to the
contract payment when part of the problem was his shutting down completely the work while a
buried utility correction was done on one side.
Now it has been published that the South extension is back on the planning stage,
reportedly to begin in about two years. Well, after considerable thought about the matter, I
would like to offer a suggestion in case it has not occurred to the planners. It was
considered by me to be a gross mistake when the 91st Street intersection widening was done that
it was not continued North at least to North of the final street intersection going East, at
the bottom of Signal Hill. This oversight has, sadly, been the cause of numerous crashes, some
with severe injuries, if not fatalities. That is because the two lane street winds down the
hill somewhat blindly and someone is attempting a left turn into that area, thus blocking
traffic with cars backed up the hill. It is particularly bad in snow, ice, or reduced
visibility as vehicles topping the hill going South suddenly find the road blocked and cannot
stop.
Being a 'displaced Okie' for 36 years, 34 in Colorado, I was present when I-70 was
built through the mountains by tunnels to avoid Arapaho Pass. They first built a 'pioneer
tunnel', which now is for maintenance and utilities, then one direction and opened it for
traffic, two way, while the second was built. Thus my suggestion is to split the Yale
direction roads at the beginning of the rise to the hill and tunnel each direction to the
outside of the existing two-lanes. This way traffic could continue on the existing street,
then when one three lane tunnel is finished all through traffic could be diverted to that bore
while the other one is drilled and completed.
I'm sure the hilltop residents would greatly appreciate the massive reduction in
traffic on the hill to their intersections and the ease of making left turns into and out of
their neighborhoods. And so would the heavy traffic appreciate not having to stop when a
resident or guest was attempting to turn into either direction. I would be happy to meet with
the traffic engineers to discuss this matter.

VIEW: 17-07: Get Over It, We Did Before
VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-07
GET OVER IT, WE DID BEFORE Week of 2017/02/13
It seems that those of the C/S (Communist/Socialist) mentality, including a majority
of the 'working press', not only will stoop to the lowest forms of campaign rhetoric but the
use of outright lies or made up stories, presented as "news" during election campaigns but on
losing refuse to accept the loss and continue their 'mean mouthed' and untrue or twisted
statements about the victors. 'And the beat goes on', and on, and on including those in the
'entertainment' business who spout their attacks and lies from their stage or stadium. Frankly
it has become rather sickening to my to the point where the turn-off button is frequently used.
All this nefarious activity is, in my mind, totally improper for a supposedly
civilized society, but then, maybe they really desire for the USA to descend into the morass of
anarchy and utter chaos so that evil and brute force will prevail. Such was the case, in my
memory, during the first part of the 1930s when Adolph Hitler and his Nazi 'brown shirt militia
' were in the process of coming to and securing their power in Germany.
Thus we have 'shining' examples of individuals and groups screaming loudly against the
duly elected president. Further, the claim is made that the Electoral College should be
abolished and said election determined by the 'popular vote' alone. In this the claim is made
that our "democracy" is being subverted. That is a bold faced lie, which a reading of the US
Constitution and 'Federalist Papers will disclose was the very last form of government intended
by the founders. They wanted neither a monarchy or dictatorship, from which they had just
obtained freedom, after much loss and bloodshed, or a democracy in which the majority rule is
absolute to the detriment, or even death, of those in the minority.
The Electoral College was established, at the demand of several of the new "states",
so that the more populous states could not capture elections, and thus work havoc on the well
being of the smaller states. It, in a way, mirrors the intent of having a "bi-chimeral"
Congress where the House is representing the population and members are elected from districts
of nearly equal population while the Senate is, or was until 1913 with Amendment XVII (17) that
changed the selection of members, still two to each state, by popular vote instead of the State
Legislatures, so as to represent the State Governments. It should be retained in all
fairness!!
But back to the current situation, where there is a cry to abolish EC because there
were more votes cast for the loser than for the EC winner. Media and others dispute the claim
by PRESDT that at least 3 million illegal aliens voted. Whether illegal or here legally, for
an alien to vote is illegal, nor do such have any of the Constitutionally guaranteed 'rights',
but are, if legally here, entitled to peaceful residence only so long as OUR Constitution and
Statute laws are obeyed.
From my own experience, particularly as a Party County Chairman, it is certain that
vote fraud exists, and in a rather large scale. Here we have names of dead people voted in
elections, due to the failure of election officials to properly purge the rolls, or Vital Stats
employees to notify the State election board, as is required by law. Another case occurred in
the 2000 election where three couples came to me, as County Chairman, afterward complaining
that they were not permitted to vote, even though filing registration applications six months
prior. Referring this to State Party, it was found that one desk in the Election Board office
had a stack of applications not acted upon, and ALL were for Republicans. No word was received
if action against the employee was taken.
There is much more, but space limitations force that to be later.

By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-08
CONTINUING REVOLUTION Week of 2017/02/20
It seems that we are witnessing the continuation of a planned "Revolution" in the USA.
That is the forces supporting the establishment of a single World government are attempting by
the well orchestrated "protests", which are actually well financed riots. Any time you see
crowds 'protesting' this or that 'issue' such as illegal alien 'rights' or a 'conservative'
speaker at a university campus that are well equipped with neatly printed signs and new,
expensive bull horns, it is a very good bet that there is heavily financed, bussed, driven, or
flown in paid rioters.
In recent weeks a number of respected and usually knowledgeable sources have stated
having solid information that these riots are an organized effort to, as was put, "make the USA
ungovernable". Other than those statements, factual confirmation is not available to me, but
seem to be sufficiently reliable and logical to make them believable.
It should be remembered that after the demise of the 'Soviet Union' the activists in
the world communist movement needed a base from which to pursue their goal of world domination.
It seems that they gravitated to the ongoing activist movement against the mankind treatment of
the environment, flora, and fauna (plants and animals) and have succeeded in capturing control.
From there the focus was on the Democrat Party and, looking at those in Party leadership
positions, it would appear that the capture is all but total. Thus my sympathies to those of
common sense and practical mind who are still involved.
Further, they are successfully managing to make serious inroads into control of the
Republican Party, even down to local clubs and Party subdivisions. This success happens
largely because far too many which might be called 'Constitutional Conservative' are reluctant
to step forward and assume management positions. Such is the case down to the Precinct
positions and elective offices such as school board members. As a result, the leaders of the
Party, as well as a number of elected officials, seem to be questionable as to their dedication
and loyalty to the original principles laid down in the Constitution to be the primary basis of
our 'Representative Republic'.
This is, to me, particularly worrisome since contained in it are the guarantees of the
GOD given freedoms we have enjoyed. Also, without those 'primary laws' the USA would have
never risen to the world prominence and economic dominance that has raised our level of
prosperity far beyond any known in history. Thus it is essential that we of the freedom loving
and law abiding population must be ready to rise up to reverse this plunge back into the 'Dark
Ages' of poverty, servitude, and dictatorship by royalty of the past.
Unfortunately, misdirection of the education establishment, the leadership of which
has been largely captured by the C/S movement, causes the products of that system to be
unknowledgeable and adverse to the original. We have reached the level where such products are
now the parents of children in school and so have not the knowledge or desire to take a hand in
properly rearing their offspring.
Also, those of my generation, called "the Greatest", are rapidly disappearing in
numbers and those left are mostly reaching the end of our ability to be effective. Those of my
circle are often being 'put out to pasture' by children and/or grandchildren and deprived of
control of their own lives and futures. That is all the more unfortunate because of the
tremendous amount of knowledge and experience in living and business that is stored in our
individual memory banks. Sometimes I am totally surprised by things being stated, often having
been forgotten that they were there. My concern is strong for the well-being of my children,
grandchildren, and now great-grandchildren.
