THIS, is straightforward country thinking.
by Jeff FoxworthyWhich side of the fence?
If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
If a Democrat is down-and-out he wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
A Democrat demands that those they don't like be shut down.
If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.
If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
If a Democrat decides he needs health care, he demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended."
Well, I forwarded it.

PIN THE TAIL ON THE DONKEY
Anyone who has ever watched a group of children play pin the tail on the donkey will usually get a good laugh. When the blindfold is placed over the eyes of the children they lose all sense of direction and there is no telling where they will eventually place the donkey's tail. Playing children's games can be amusing but when so-called adults start playing politics without a sense of direction it can become very serious quickly.
If we ever needed proof that the judicial branch of our government is out of control, the recent temporary restraining orders by some liberal activists judges placed upon the travel ban that our president enforced by executive order should remove all doubt. The law is very clear; the president has the right and authority to protect this nation from all threats foreign and domestic. It is time that our judiciary protects the constitution of this nation and stops being a patsy for the political left. Our president has daily security briefing from all around the world, he has firsthand knowledge about the terrorists and their minions that want to do us harm. I would bet the farm that all of these activist judges do not have a clue about what is going on outside of their plush comfortable offices. Some people think it is sacrilegious to criticize a judge but because of their allegiance to political correctness they are putting all Americans at risk.
To be honest I started writing this column a couple of days ago, today I heard of the terrorist attack in England. The person responsible was a follower of ISIS and that organization was celebrating the killing of at least four people and the injuring of many more. I am tired of listening to some elected official make the statement of giving condolences to the victims and their families. Donald Trump made the campaign promise to screen the people that we allow to enter our nation. He is trying to do just that but the left and their crony judges are doing all in their power to put up roadblocks. Their actions are bordering on lunacy. How much proof do they need to see the stupidity of their actions? Don't they remember 9/11, Fort Hood, The Boston Marathon, etc... The individuals committing these terrorist acts did not come from the same country but they all had one thing in common. They all belonged to a religion that demands that they kill anyone who does not belong to their belief system. They also believe that if they die killing the non believers they will immediately go to heaven and have 72 virgins at their disposal.
The United States is my country and nowhere in our constitution does it grant rights and privileges to people in other parts of the world. Our nation is not a dumping ground for the world community. These judges are acting like a bunch of kids playing pin the tail on the donkey. In this scenario it may not be so funny; their action has the possibility to put Americans in danger.

Fwd: 20 YEARS FROM NOW - a necessary read
Subject: Fw: Fwd: 20 YEARS FROM NOW - a necessary read
20 years from now, I will be in Heaven -This was written by a woman born in Egypt as a Muslim.. Make sure you read the paragraph (in red) toward
the end.Joys of Muslim Women
By Nonie Darwish
In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9.
The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.
Even though a woman is abused she cannot obtain a divorce. Toprove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.
Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an
honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives 'at will' and he does not have to say why he has beaten her.
The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion.
The Sharia Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.
In the Western World ( Canada, Australia, United States and Britain) Muslim men are starting to demand Sharia Law so the wife cannot obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American, Canadian, Universities and British Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Sharia law.
By passing this on, enlightened Canadian, Australians, American and British women may avoid becoming a slave under Sharia Law.
Ripping the West in Two.
Author and lecturer Nonie Darwish says the goal of radical Islamists is to impose Sharia law on the world, ripping Western law and liberty in two.
She recently authored the book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law. Darwish was born in Cairo and spent her childhood in Egypt and Gaza before immigrating to America in 1978, when she was eight years old. Her father died while leading covert attacks on Israel. He was a high-ranking Egyptian military officer stationed with his family in Gaza ......
When he died, he was considered a "shahid," a martyr for jihad. His posthumous status earned Nonie and her family an elevated position in Muslim society..
But Darwish developed a skeptical eye at an early age. She questioned her own Muslim culture and upbringing.. She converted to Christianity after hearing a Christian preacher on television
In her latest book, Darwish warns about creeping sharia law - what it is, what it means, and how it is manifested in Islamic countries
For the West, she says radical Islamists are working to impose sharia on the world. If that happens, Western civilization will be destroyed. Westerners generally assume all religions encourage a respect for the dignity of each individual. Islamic law (Sharia) teaches that non-Muslims should be subjugated or killed in this world.
Peace and prosperity for one's children is not as important as assuring that Islamic law rules everywhere in the Middle East and eventually in the world.
While Westerners tend to think that all religions encourage some form of the golden rule, Sharia teaches two systems of ethics - one for Muslims and another for non-Muslims.Building on tribal practices of the seventh century, Sharia encourages the side of humanity that wants to take from and subjugate others..
While Westerners tend to think in terms of religious people developing a personal understanding of and relationship with God, Sharia advocates executing people who ask difficult questions that could be interpreted as criticism
It's hard to imagine, that in this day and age, Islamic scholars agree that those who criticize Islam or choose to stop being Muslim should be executed. Sadly, while talk of an Islamic reformation is common and even assumed by many in the West, such murmurings in the Middle East are silenced through intimidation
While Westerners are accustomed to an increase in religious tolerance over time, Darwish explains how petro dollars are being used to grow an extremely intolerant form of political Islam in her native Egypt and elsewhere.
(In twenty years there will be enough Muslim voters in Canada, Australia, the U.S. And Britain To elect the heads of Government by themselves! Rest assured
they will do so... You can look at how they have almost taken over several towns in the USA .. Dearborn Mich. is one and there are others....Britain has several cities now with Sharia Law controlled zones, totally controlled by Muslims)
I think everyone in Canada, Australia, the U.S. And Great Britain should be required to read this, but with the ACLU, there is no way this will be widely publicized, unless each of us sends it on!It is too bad that so many are disillusioned with life and Christianity to accept Muslims as peaceful.. Some may be but they have an army that is willing to shed blood in the name of Islam.. The peaceful support the warriors with their finances and own kind of patriotism to their religion. While Canada, Australia, the U.S.A. and Britain are getting rid of Christianity from all public sites and erasing God from the lives of children the Muslims are planning a great jihad on North America, Australia and Britain .........
This is your chance to make a difference...! Pass it on to your email list or at least those you think will listen..Some of those I'm sending it to WILL NOT! Put your head back under the covers AND DO NOTHING!

VIEW: 17-15: One Promise Made, Being Kept
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-15
ONE PROMISE MADE, BEING KEPT Week of 2017/04/10
During the presidential two year campaign, PRESDT promised that during his
administration if elected a wall would be constructed along the Southern Border of USA and
Mexico. The stated reason was to restrict the 'invasion' of illegal aliens and drug
runners/assassins. Those of the C/S persuasion loudly and often protested that such was
'illegal, unconstitutional, and immoral' which, in my opinion, was not surprising since one of
their unstated reasons for this invasion is to bring in more 'welfare' users and thus 'illegal'
voters. In recent elections there have been reports of precincts, usually in heavily Democrat
controlled areas, where the number of votes cast substantially exceeded the number of
registered voters.
No nation can continue to exist unless the borders are controlled and the entrance and
departure of non-citizens is continually recorded and controlled. We have seen far too much
'error in our ways' in this necessity in the past 40 years in my observation. One of the
criteria for an immigrant obtaining citizenship is the ability to read, write, speak and
understand the English language, and yet we see voting instructions in English, Spanish,
French, and now middle Eastern languages. In Oklahoma the inner envelope for absentee ballot
returns has instructions in both English and Spanish, and no explanation has been forthcoming
from the State Election Board!!!
Back to the "wall". A story in the daily paper, well back pages, on March 9 carried
the headline "Public notices posted for Mexico border-wall prototypes". The credit was to
Alicia A. Caldwell of the AP and datelined Washington. The first paragraph read: "The Trump
administration wants to build a 30-foot-high border wall that looks good from the north side
and is difficult to climb or cut through, according to a pair of contract notices posted to a
government website".
The third paragraph stated: "One of the CBP contract requests calls for a solid
concrete wall, while the other asks for proposals for a see-through structure". Also included
in it was that both would require the wall to be at least six feet into the ground. At least
there is activity beginning on the quest for a border wall, as promised. Unfortunately, as
usual the rest of the story carried subtle suggestions that there are many opposed to this
project. I am strongly favorable to it.
In my files is a letter dated December 30, 2016 to my Congressman, Jim Bridenstine,
written in preparation for a meeting with him about a suggested design and method of
construction of 'the wall'. He was selected as my representative and also seemed to have some
input into the PRESDT transition team and so could pass it on. Keeping in mind the caution to
never 'telegraph your punch' some of the items we discussed should not be publicized, such as
details of design and construction. One item of interest to both of us was the suggestion that
construction done on site be accomplished by military units, particularly reserve and guard, in
that business.
If memory is correct the OK National Guard has two construction battalions that each
year must activate for a training session, usually two weeks. Then the Navy has 'SeeBee' units
that distinguished themselves in WW II in the Pacific. Cong. Jim immediately stated that they
could be activated for a three month tour which seemed even better to me to allow more
training. It was further determined that combat teams should also be deployed for protection
against the thugs.
The story indicated that the call was for prototypes to be built on the California
Border. My suggestion was to build the wall beginning at the New Mexico border, since it is of
shorter length, and possibly less violent. In design it was to be 30 feet deep by 8 feet wide
with steel reinforcement and equipment has been located to cut such dimensions in one pass.
Nothing further has been heard but it seems to me to be a better approach and perhaps less
costly.

VIEW: 17-13: Deliberate Citizen Inconvenience
VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-13
DELIBERATE CITIZEN INCONVENIENCE Week of 2017/03/27
It never ceases to amaze, and irritate, me the way our government employees at all
levels seem to delight in making things as inconvenient as possible for we the citizens. Many
cases in point are the seemingly idiotic, or deliberate decision, of how to route traffic
around work areas, or in deliberately delaying projects much needed for safety and/or
convenience. Further, there seems to be deliberate delay in such construction as if to impress
on users just how much power the established bureaucracy holds over us.
Whenever there is a construction/repair project in a turnpike or non-toll divided
multi-lane road, the traffic to be diverted to the other side is first moved to the right lane
for some distance, then moved across the divider onto the other side. This is extra effort,
and can be more unsafe, in my observation. Why cannot the traffic to be moved be funneled onto
the LEFT lane before making the crossing to the other side or is this simply a way to obtain
more
money by the contractor? Why has the OTA gone to using asphalt for resurfacing/rebuilding
roads instead of using concrete, which will not move in summer heat to create ruts or ripples?
Over ten years ago the City of Tulsa had two major street improvements undertaken.
One was to widen South Yale Avenue from 71st to 81st Streets from two lanes to six lanes
divided, plus left turn lanes at cross streets and right turn lanes at the ends. The other
was
major widening and bridge overpasses of 71st Street West at US-75 also Tulsa Hills Shopping
Center which also involved ODOT (Oklahoma Department of Transportation).
It seemed that because of a deep cut in the middle of the Yale project, a necessary
lowering of the level of a buried telephone cellar on the East side was not done deep enough.
Instead of moving all street construction to the West side so as to obtain completion of those
three lanes, for the convenience and safety of the users, the contractor left equipment there
and moved personnel to the other project to obtain an earlier completion, and thus a bonus for
that. Then they applied for a 'change order' for more money on the Yale project 'because of
the delay necessitated by AT&T'. In that case, our then Counselor Bill Christiansen requested
me to appear as an expert witness against the change order, along with other nearby residents,
and we did prevail. The then Public Works Director appeared to testify in favor of the change
order.
At that time it was also in the master plan to extend the Yale construction South to
91st Street over a rather large hill, Signal Hill. The funds for that were diverted to the
West 71st Street project. That section of street is quite dangerous because of the steep, and
curvy, layout of the existing two lane pavement.
The intersection of Yale and 91st Street has been widened and the six lane street
extended South to the intersection with the Creek Turnpike at about 96th Street alignment.
However, the widening North only went about two blocks, instead of to the final side street
before going up the hill. This has resulted in many crashes, a few serious injuries and
perhaps one fatality, because traffic coming down the hill is often backed up because of a
vehicle turning left at the first side street into a subdivision. The widening should have
been continued North to past that street.
There are now reports coming out that the project is back in the mill. I have
proposed, in a letter to the editor, that the construction be a twin tunnel through the hill,
so as to avoid the safety issues and reduce the traffic over the hill for the convenience of
the residents up there. The editor of the daily paper declined to run it because 'there were
too many words'. But to shorten it to his limit would destroy the message, so has been
declined. He probably wouldn't run it anyway.

VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-12
MISGUIDED COMPLAINT Week of 2017/03/20
In recent weeks Governor Mary Fallin made her selection for a replacement of a retired
judge on the Oklahoma Supreme Court. By law she is required to choose from a panel of three
nominees selected by a commission which seems to be under majority control of the Oklahoma Bar
Association members. The one she chose is a deputy on the Oklahoma Attorney General staff.
It seems that almost immediately officials of the State Democrat Party vehemently
objected, ostensibly on the basis that 'he is not a citizen of that judicial district'. This
despite the later published fact that he is native to that area and continues to own property
there. Media stories stated that he 'resides in Edmond'. Well, if a person works in Oklahoma
City, it would be logical that he or she would maintain a residence nearby, as do most members
of the Legislature, rather than having to resort to much greater hotel/motel expenses during
the work week. It seems to me that reporters could have very easily checked the voter
registration records for his reported address in Edmond to see if he is registered there, or in
his home town, but no such report was seen by me.
Actually the records of none of the three candidates nominated by the commission, the
other two being sitting district judges, is presently known to me. However, it is my opinion
that we citizens of Oklahoma have been for years suffering under the judicial bias of the make
up of the current justices. From what reports have come out on the logic(?) put forth in the
statements when they have voted to overrule seemingly logical and much desired legislation one
must come to the conclusion that the decisions are truly based on personal bias rather than
facts of the Constitution.
However, knowing the record of our recent AG, for whom the appointed man worked, it
seems to me that this should be a beginning step in the right direction to bring the Court back
to a more even balance. And that should be of great benefit to the rest of the population.
Personal bias is readily admitted as my 'mind is made up' that abortion is nothing
more than murder for convenience. I still remember the time in 1990 when as a candidate for
House 67 a woman confronted me with the statement 'Bob, if you are going anywhere in politics,
you had better get off your anti abortion position'. Nor have I forgotten my reply "try to put
yourself in my position, if the open abortion laws had been in effect in 1926, I probably would
not be here for you to say that to".
Within a day or two following the story on the Democrat office, was a story that the
ACLU had filed a legal action against the appointment. This seems very suspicious to me that
there is a close connection between the offices of these two entities. And, in my opinion, the
ACLU has anything but what its selected name implies. It seems that they only are supportive
of issues that fall into the agenda of the C/S world movement. Further, when they become
involved they seem to make every attempt to bring trial in the media rather than wait until
evidence is presented in court. No further reports on that subject has been forthcoming,
although a radio news report recently stated that the case was not accepted by the court, if my
ears did not deceive me.
It was of some comfort to me to be advised by the office of Congressman Bridenstine
that the ACLU receives no federal funding, like Planned Parenthood does. Along that line, a
report was heard on March 7 that PRESDT had told them that he would allow them to continue to
receive the federal funds IF THEY WOULD CEASE DOING ABORTIONS!!! For anyone who believes that
the offer will be accepted, I have heard of some swamp land in florida that can be had cheap!!
There have been reports of the ACLU being declaired to be very dangerous, or worse by the
Government, but have not been seen by me.

VIEW: 17-11: Individual Official Misconduct
VIEW FROM HERE
By Bob McDowell (Born Neil Carson) Number 17-11
INDIVIDUAL OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT Week of 2017/03/13
It is quite obvious, to me at least, that those of the C/S persuasion, with either a
'D' or 'R' on their voter registrations have no intention of sitting back and letting the newly
installed President and his staff go about the business of 'governing'. It seems like several
times a day someone of that number breaks out with a statement blasting PRESDT or his new staff
for some, usually made up, supposed wrongdoing.
Unfortunately, we also have a 'major media' the staffs of which are completely on
board and seem unable to find the truth go right along and give those railing full coverage and
accepted as absolute fact. One wonders just where all the 'honest' and 'investigative'
reporter types have gone. It is my opinion that those died off decades ago to be replaced by
younger 'journalism school' graduates who have either been brainwashed in said academic
locations, or were already imbedded in that arena before entry.
If in the former category, there can be some latitude understood, since the 'educators
' have the upper hand and can easily intimidate their students. If you don't go along, you
might not be allowed to pass a course, or even continue in the school. My experience was in
the School of Engineering studying Aeronautics. The primary professor in those courses
believed in 'grading on the curve', where a certain percentage would automatically fail. In
most of the classes under him, there were only two students, which meant the even if both
tested above 90%, one would fail. Being younger by several years, that usually meant me.
It never ceases to offend me with the language most often used by those raising
accusations against those they hate. My term for them is 'mean mouthed' and it can be applied
to some in the newly installed majority party as well as most in the opposition party. The
latter seem to feel that it is their 'natural right' to be in the majority and thus able to
'rule' as was stated eight years ago when the PRESBO administration was taking over. In the
USA the proper term is 'govern' but it seems that it was their intent to 'rule' as did the
dictators of the last century and the ruling monarchs of those earlier.
In those cases the "law" was whatever the ruler said it was, thus the term "the King
can do no wrong" because whatever the ruler said the law was, it was. We all need to remember
that the inspired, in my opinion, by GOD founders prepared a Constitution to be the "rule of
law" for the USA and, despite some ill conceived amendments, it has served us well in the 240
years since, when fully followed.
Unfortunately, there have been far too many nominated to federal judgeships, at all
levels of courts, who in their self important feelings seem to feel that their bias and belief
is more proper than following the law as written. Congressional leadership must bear some
responsibility for their 'dereliction of duty' in failing to bring impeachment charges against
even the most flagrant of such cases. One fairly recent one was Ms. Justice Ginsberg of the
Supreme Court who was recorded as stating in a speech a few years ago that she 'uses
international law' in reaching decisions.
Finally, a personal note. This effort completes nine years since the publisher of the
Banner Newspaper, in Adair OK, asked if I would consider writing a weekly column. My reply was
"I will try anything once and if it doesn't suit me will end". My effort has been to be
informative, factual when available, and sometimes amusing. Thank those who have rendered
support by compliments and those who considered me worthy of publishing. I hope to continue at
least one more year and, GOD willing, maybe more. Internet difficulties and my fingers aging
have made the effort more difficult, but hopefully the old computer will continue to work.
Thank you all again.

well orchestrated program to arrange incidents to make it appear that a State Representative
has a strong bias against Islam and Muslims in general. On March 4 in the daily news(?)
paper were two stories on these subjects. The first, by-lined Bill Sherman, World Staff,
carried the headline: "Do Muslim nations want Shariah law?" The story listed nations that
have heavy support and those which do not "according to Pew Research Center studies".
Well, duh! in Islam ruled nations, it would likely be a death sentence to admit not wanting
Shariah law.
The other story was headlined: "Bennett rejects Muslim students" and carried a sub
that said "LEGISLATURE - Lawmaker asks office visitors, 'Do you beat your wife', credit
given to Randy Krehbiel of World staff. The story was that on Thursday afternoon
(March 2) CAIR had the usual annual 'Muslim Day' at the Capitol. Three Muslim 'students'
came to his office and he "refused" to meet with them and gave them 'tracts that, among
other things, asked "Do you beat your wife?"' The implication was that he was present and
refused to meet with them.
Well, now for the 'rest of the story' as Sand Springs native the late Paul Harvey
often said: the suspicion is that the date and time is specifically chosen for the "Day"
because both houses usually recess at noon and most of the legislators leave at noon to
go home, especially those who live out more than an hour from the Capitol. Representative
Bennett WAS NOT THERE but if the story stated that it slipped my reading. The story
quoted Adam Soltani, executive director of CAIR in Oklahoma as calling the questions
in the hand-out "stupid, Islamophobic, hateful (and) bigoted".
Well, it seemed out of line so a call was placed to his office on Monday, the 6th,
which was returned by his executive assistance on Tuesday. It seems that the facts are that
she was the one the 'students' accosted and unlike the impression made on me that they
were of high school or younger age, they were actually appeared to be in their 'young adult'
ages, and thus could be married.
The questions were not his but in a standard publication. And that this 'Muslim day'
time and weekday is believed to be chosen by CAIR specifically because it is known that
legislators will be absent, and thus they can claim the 'refusal to meet them'. She stated
that they were told that if they would make an appointment, like everyone else does, he
would definitely meet with them. They later claim that they were told he wouldn't meet
them unless they were from his district. The story finally states that the 'Democrat(ic)
party released a statement referring to Bennett as a "cancer" in the Legislature and calling
for the "Republicans to make it clear that they do not support Bennett and his hate."
Representative Bennett has a stellar record of first hand experience with people of
Muslim faith. He has been in military special forces deployed to the Middle East and thus
come in contact with many of them, both good and bad, on their ground. He seems to
have a very good range of knowledge of the Qur'an and it's rules for conduct for believers.
It is necessary for me to rely on his knowledge, since it has been my understanding that it
was forbidden for 'infidels' (not-believers) to even touch their 'holy book' and my eyes have
never even seen one.
A third story on March 7 carried the headline "Speaker silent on Muslim questionnaire"
with the sub stating "All House members 'accountable to their constituents,' McCall says of
Bennett". Well, that is definitely true, and the fact that he has been elected from that
district more than once tells me that his constituents must approve!! Well done,
Representative Bennett!! Unless something much more solid and truthful against him
appears, he has my support.

FAIRTAX UPDATE Week of 2017/03/06
Four weeks ago there was a brief discussion was done on the PRESDT promise of revising
the income tax laws we have suffered through for these many decades and revisions, each making
things worse. The result being the development of one of the largest and most corrupt and
dictatorial departments in the US Government, the IRS. It has also been used to attack and
intimidate those with opposite views to the sitting administration, even to the point of
criminal indictments and jail time, all of which were blatantly illegal.
The imposition of an income tax is permitted under Constitutional Amendment XVI (16)
which simply reads, in full: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on
incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and
without regard to any census or enumeration". This socialist oriented amendment was ratified
by the necessary number of states on February 3, 1913. A tax on the proceeds of one's labor or
wisdom is, in my and many others opinions, unethical, immoral, and most regressive.
In 2005 a book titled "The FairTax Book" appeared as authored by then talk show host
Neal Boortz and then Congressman John Linder, R-GA. While skeptical, after reading same my
attention was captured and now believe it to be the answer to most, if not all, the fiscal
problems of the USA. That is except for the tendency of those in government to spend in excess
of revenue at all times, apparently expecting there to be an unlimited source of funds.
In essence, the FAIRTAX would replace ALL existing tax revenue to the federal
government with a single 'embedded in sales price' of all goods at the point of FINAL retail
sale. The tax, 23%, would be collected by the tax authority of each state and forwarded, less
a 1/2% fee, to the US Treasury each month. Thus it would be a 'voluntary' tax, based on how
much one wished to spend on the purchase of NEW items. The only report necessary for a family
to make would be an annual statement of the number of individuals residing in the home. This
would then be used to determine the amount of "prebate" to be paid each month, in advance, of
the estimated amount of tax to be collected on the necessities of a poverty level family of
that number reported.
Thus all corporate taxes would disappear, including withholding, and income. Items
exported would not be taxed, as wholesale, and the bookkeeping costs of the employee taxes
deducted would disappear, as well as the costs to both individuals and corporations would be
totally unnecessary. There would be no: Social Security, Medicare, Death, Self-employment,
alternative minimum, gift, capital gains as well as income tax.
This morning the office of OK-1 District Congressman Jim Bridenstine advised me that
in the current new Congress House the FAIRTAX is HR 26 and that so far there are 36 House
co-sponsors signed on, including three of the five from Oklahoma. In past sessions there have
been as many as 62 co-sponsors, to my knowledge. Only Congressmen Cole and Russell are not in
and in the 12 years that the proposal has been in the hopper, Cong. Cole has not to my
knowledge ever been a co-sponsor.
My fear is that if the PRESDT stated program of a "three level" tax rate should
prevail, the costs of filing, and payroll deductions would continue and could be 'tinkered with
' by misguided members of future Congresses to the detriment of both individual citizens and
the economy.
We all need, if this seems desirable or necessary, to lean on both Senators and our
own, and others whose attention we might have, and secure their promise to 'get on board' and
if not why not. The result would be a massive economic boom for our nation.

DELIBERATE CITIZEN INCONVENIENCE Week of 2017/03/27
It never ceases to amaze, and irritate, me the way our government employees at all levels seem to delight in making things as inconvenient as possible for we the citizens. Many cases in point are the seemingly idiotic, or deliberate decision, of how to route traffic around work areas, or in deliberately delaying projects much needed for safety and/or convenience. Further, there seems to be deliberate delay in such construction as if to impress on users just how much power the established bureaucracy holds over us.
Whenever there is a construction/repair project in a turnpike or non-toll divided multi-lane road, the traffic to be diverted to the other side is first moved to the right lane for some distance, then moved across the divider onto the other side. This is extra effort, and can be more unsafe, in my observation. Why cannot the traffic to be moved be funneled onto the LEFT lane before making the crossing to the other side or is this simply a way to obtain more money by the contractor? Why has the OTA gone to using asphalt for resurfacing/rebuilding roads instead of using concrete, which will not move in summer heat to create ruts or ripples?
Over ten years ago the City of Tulsa had two major street improvements undertaken. One was to widen South Yale Avenue from 71st to 81st Streets from two lanes to six lanes divided, plus left turn lanes at cross streets and right turn lanes at the ends. The other was major widening and bridge overpasses of 71st Street West at US-75 also Tulsa Hills Shopping Center which also involved ODOT (Oklahoma Department of Transportation).
It seemed that because of a deep cut in the middle of the Yale project, a necessary lowering of the level of a buried telephone cellar on the East side was not done deep enough. Instead of moving all street construction to the West side so as to obtain completion of those three lanes, for the convenience and safety of the users, the contractor left equipment there and moved personnel to the other project to obtain an earlier completion, and thus a bonus for that. Then they applied for a 'change order' for more money on the Yale project 'because of the delay necessitated by AT&T'.
In that case, our then Counselor Bill Christiansen requested me to appear as an expert witness against the change order, along with other nearby residents, and we did prevail. The then Public Works Director appeared to testify in favor of the change order.
At that time it was also in the master plan to extend the Yale construction South to 91st Street over a rather large hill, Signal Hill. The funds for that were diverted to the West 71st Street project.
That section of street is quite dangerous because of the steep, and curvy, layout of the existing two lane pavement.
The intersection of Yale and 91st Street has been widened and the six lane street extended South to the intersection with the Creek Turnpike at about 96th Street alignment. However, the widening North only went about two blocks, instead of to the final side street before going up the hill. This has resulted in many crashes, a few serious injuries and perhaps one fatality, because traffic coming down the hill is often backed up because of a vehicle turning left at the first side street into a subdivision. The widening should have been continued North to past that street.
There are now reports coming out that the project is back in the mill. I have proposed, in a letter to the editor, that the construction be a twin tunnel through the hill, so as to avoid the safety issues and reduce the traffic over the hill for the convenience of the residents up there. The editor of the daily paper declined to run it because 'there were too many words'. But to shorten it to his limit would destroy the message, so has been declined. He probably wouldn't run it anyway.

MISGUIDED COMPLAINT Week of 2017/03/20
In recent weeks Governor Mary Fallin made her selection for a replacement of a retired judge on the Oklahoma Supreme Court. By law she is required to choose from a panel of three nominees selected by a commission which seems to be under majority control of the Oklahoma Bar Association members. The one she chose is a deputy on the Oklahoma Attorney General staff.
It seems that almost immediately officials of the State Democrat Party vehemently objected, ostensibly on the basis that 'he is not a citizen of that judicial district'. This despite the later published fact that he is native to that area and continues to own property there. Media stories stated that he 'resides in Edmond'. Well, if a person works in Oklahoma City, it would be logical that he or she would maintain a residence nearby, as do most members of the Legislature, rather than having to resort to much greater hotel/motel expenses during the work week. It seems to me that reporters could have very easily checked the voter registration records for his reported address in Edmond to see if he is registered there, or in his home town, but no such report was seen by me.
Actually the records of none of the three candidates nominated by the commission, the other two being sitting district judges, is presently known to me. However, it is my opinion that we citizens of Oklahoma have been for years suffering under the judicial bias of the make up of the current justices. From what reports have come out on the logic(?) put forth in the statements when they have voted to overrule seemingly logical and much desired legislation one must come to the conclusion that the decisions are truly based on personal bias rather than facts of the Constitution.
However, knowing the record of our recent AG, for whom the appointed man worked, it seems to me that this should be a beginning step in the right direction to bring the Court back to a more even balance. And that should be of great benefit to the rest of the population.
Personal bias is readily admitted as my 'mind is made up' that abortion is nothing more than murder for convenience. I still remember the time in 1990 when as a candidate for House 67 a woman confronted me with the statement 'Bob, if you are going anywhere in politics, you had better get off your anti abortion position'. Nor have I forgotten my reply "try to put yourself in my position, if the open abortion laws had been in effect in 1926, I probably would not be here for you to say that to".
Within a day or two following the story on the Democrat office, was a story that the ACLU had filed a legal action against the appointment. This seems very suspicious to me that there is a close connection between the offices of these two entities. And, in my opinion, the ACLU has anything but what its selected name implies. It seems that they only are supportive of issues that fall into the agenda of the C/S world movement. Further, when they become involved they seem to make every attempt to bring trial in the media rather than wait until evidence is presented in court.
No further reports on that subject has been forthcoming, although a radio news report recently stated that the case was not accepted by the court, if my ears did not deceive me.
It was of some comfort to me to be advised by the office of Congressman Bridenstine that the ACLU receives no federal funding, like Planned Parenthood does. Along that line, a report was heard on March 7 that PRESDT had told them that he would allow them to continue to receive the federal funds IF THEY WOULD CEASE DOING ABORTIONS!!! For anyone who believes that the offer will be accepted, I have heard of some swamp land in florida that can be had cheap!! There have been reports of the ACLU being declaired to be very dangerous, or worse by the Government, but have not been seen by

INDIVIDUAL OFFICIAL MISCONDUCT Week of 2017/03/13
It is quite obvious, to me at least, that those of the C/S persuasion, with either a 'D' or 'R' on their voter registrations have no intention of sitting back and letting the newly installed President and his staff go about the business of 'governing'. It seems like several times a day someone of that number breaks out with a statement blasting PRESDT or his new staff for some, usually made up, supposed wrongdoing.
Unfortunately, we also have a 'major media' the staffs of which are completely on board and seem unable to find the truth go right along and give those railing full coverage and accepted as absolute fact. One wonders just where all the 'honest' and 'investigative' reporter types have gone. It is my opinion that those died off decades ago to be replaced by younger 'journalism school' graduates who have either been brainwashed in said academic locations, or were already imbedded in that arena before entry.
If in the former category, there can be some latitude understood, since the 'educators' have the upper hand and can easily intimidate their students. If you don't go along, you might not be allowed to pass a course, or even continue in the school. My experience was in the School of Engineering studying Aeronautics. The primary professor in those courses believed in 'grading on the curve', where a certain percentage would automatically fail. In most of the classes under him, there were only two students, which meant the even if both tested above 90%, one would fail. Being younger by several years, that usually meant me.
It never ceases to offend me with the language most often used by those raising accusations against those they hate. My term for them is 'mean mouthed' and it can be applied to some in the newly installed majority party as well as most in the opposition party. The latter seem to feel that it is their 'natural right' to be in the majority and thus able to 'rule' as was stated eight years ago when the PRESBO administration was taking over. In the USA the proper term is 'govern' but it seems that it was their intent to 'rule' as did the dictators of the last century and the ruling monarchs of those earlier.
In those cases the "law" was whatever the ruler said it was, thus the term "the King can do no wrong" because whatever the ruler said the law was, it was. We all need to remember that the inspired, in my opinion, by GOD founders prepared a Constitution to be the "rule of law" for the USA and, despite some ill conceived amendments, it has served us well in the 240 years since, when fully followed. Unfortunately, there have been far too many nominated to federal judgeships, at all levels of courts, who in their self important feelings seem to feel that their bias and belief is more proper than following the law as written.
Congressional leadership must bear some responsibility for their 'dereliction of duty' in failing to bring impeachment charges against even the most flagrant of such cases. One fairly recent one was Ms. Justice Ginsberg of the Supreme Court who was recorded as stating in a speech a few years ago that she 'uses international law' in reaching decisions.
Finally, a personal note. This effort completes nine years since the publisher of the Banner Newspaper, in Adair OK, asked if I would consider writing a weekly column. My reply was "I will try anything once and if it doesn't suit me will end". My effort has been to be informative, factual when available, and sometimes amusing. Thank those who have rendered support by compliments and those who considered me worthy of publishing. I hope to continue at least one more year and, GOD willing, maybe more. Internet difficulties and my fingers aging have made the effort more difficult, but hopefully the old computer will continue to work. Thank you all again.
