A SPLASH OF HOPE

  Now that the final chapter in the quest for a new President of the USA has been written, it would appear that we may not have made a serious mistake in the selection of a replacement. In my mind, the only promise kept by PRESBO was that he was "going to fundamentally change America". Unfortunately for the vast majority of our population that change was definitely not for the better, but then he did not say what changes were to be made.

  Reminds me of my No. 2 Son who when receiving the plane to seek his commercial pilot license and instrument rating in mid-November of 2004 stated 'I should be through with it by the end of the year'. He just did not state which year and I have not seen it since. Not only did it appear that GOD has been brought back into the picture, but that we will once again have the motivating premise that 'peace is procured by being so strong that no one else will be interested in attacking'. In my lifetime there is no memory of an inauguration speech that was so blunt, to the point, and quite frankly encouraging as the one heard on January 20. We may have finally made a correct choice, thanks to the wisdom of the founders in establishing the "Electoral College" in which I have had the honor and privilege of serving sixteen years ago.

True Tax Reform/Cuts

TRUE  TAX  REFORM/CUTS 

         President Donald J. Trump (isn't that pretty) has repeatedly announced his intention to simplify the 'tax code' to a 'three tier' system.  That has a nice ring to it, but it is my firm and fixed opinion, written several times before, that it would still leave in place the IRS (Internal Revenue Service[?]) which is arguably the most corrupt, crooked, and politically oriented department in the Federal Government.  This has become even more clear and public during the last eight years of the PRESBO Administration, where actions, or lack of them, have been used against individuals, companies, and groups deemed to be in opposition to their agenda.

    During the last several Congresses at the beginning of each a bill titled the 'FairTax' bill, and numbered in the new Congress as H-15 and S-18 respectively, was filed at the opening.  The S-18 version has just been filed and according to the office of Senator Inhofe has no co-sponsors yet.  The H-15 was filed earlier this year and according to the office of Congressman Bridenstime had already 25 co-sponsors, including him and three of the four others from Oklahoma.  The 'FairTax' would allow the IRS to be abolished (except for the few years to assess possible fraud in old returns)!

Continuing Election Campaign

CONTINUING ELECTION CAMPAIGN

  It was thought that the election campaign of 2016 would end with the votes cast on November 8 followed by the Electoral College vote on December 19 and finally with the certification of the electoral college vote by the House in January. But, unlike the past two elections when there was a Democrat elected and the opponent Republicans accepted the results, the wailing and gnashing of teeth has not ceased. In fact it appears that, with the return of Congress to Washington and a new Congress opening it's first session, the mean-mouthed lying and bashing of P.E. Trump has reached a new level of disgrace on the part of some in leadership and the media mouthpieces.

  The opposition forces in the Senate have, it appears, taken a vow to sidetrack most, if not all of the nominees for Cabinet positions. They must want Trump to appoint people who vehemently disagree with his plans and programs. What a far cry from when their man was doing the nominating!! In my recollection, whenever this was the situation, the opposition Republicans took the attitude that 'he was entitled to those he wanted to advise him'. There was not this vehement, loud, and really dirty vocal, and vote, opposition to the elected programs.

Earthquake Pontification

EARTHQUAKE PONTIFICATION

  It seems that almost everyone involved in any way with government has an opinion on the sudden rise in earthquake numbers, and now intensity, in Oklahoma. Although not involved in

government in any way, except for paying the excessive taxes to support the bloated bureaucracy in all levels of government, even down to school boards, this is my turn. Unfortunately, most of the 'opinions' being put forth in media, primarily print, rarely bother to list names and qualifications of those making the statements quoted or referred to.

  Before making my opinions, again, it is appropriate to list same: Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from U.of OK, class of 1950; Registered Professional Engineer (retired status, not current) CO; Registered Professional Geologist (not current) CA; 50 years active in exploration, drilling, well completion, workover and repair, pipeline design and construction supervision, and producing well operation management. Still a practicing consultant in same. Also prior experience in the area of 'human operation triggered' earthquakes, being active in the Denver area when such quakes developed shortly after Federal Government began injection very deadly war produced chemicals into a basement drilled well on the Rocky Mountain Arsenal grounds.

KEEPING THE PROMISES

   From my point of view, it appears that P. E. Trump is already acting on some of the items contained in his 'Contract With America' issued last Month (shades of Newt Gingrich in 1994 which is credited for a major take-over of majority in the House of Congress). When that group of promises made by Trump became known to me, and NOT by any conventional media, my optimism for his intent took a major leap upward. It seems that almost every day, even during the recent Christmas/New Year holiday season there were announcements forthcoming of his actions and appointments.

  It seems that he intends to go around the network and print media and direct to the people through the Internet with his own announcements of his actions. A smart move since they have proved again and again that the 'truth is not in them' and they will mis-report or simply lie about what he announces to them. This may explain why they in those media facilities are so irritated and loudly complaining about his actions this way. They may feel he is making them irrelevant, and rightly so. Perhaps this past election has caused a majority of the LEGAL voting population to finally wake up and begin to think for themselves.

An Auspicious Year Beginning

AN AUSPICIOUS YEAR BEGINNING

  Here we go with a whole new year, starting with a fresh slate and daily calender. There is valid reason to feel optimistic for the future of our Nation, and as a fall-out, forthe entire World.

  The results of our just past election seem to already be having some fall-out on the management of several other nations in the World, both friendly and at enmity. Since the USA is arguably the most powerful, financially if not militarily, what we do has an effect on the rest so it is even more important that we have our 'act in order' to set the example of how things should be run, if nothing else. It has been 27 years since this has really been the situation, and

things have deteriorated substantially, and not just in the Middle East.

  We have a new administration preparing to take over on January 20, GOD willing. Its leader has been more energetic, and seemingly thorough, in evaluating those candidates to come onto the staff. Some of those already announced give me reason to feel confident that the next four years will see some substantial changes in the operation and size of the Federal Government, much for the better. After all, the leaders of other nations will respect those who act with confidence, assuredly, and dependability. Further, the leaders of Islamic ruled nations really have little to no respect for the leaders of others that happen to be female, and will do whatever they wish regardless of what is 'right', honest, or truthful. It is in their "law" (Sharia) which must be obeyed.
